Choosing Faith Over Fear

There is nothing to fear but fear itself! In our weakness, He is strong.

The Lord is my light and my salvation; whom shall I fear? The Lord is the strength of my life; of whom shall I be afraid? Psalm 27:1

There is nothing to fear but fear itself! When Jesus is the center of our life, we may be tempted to fear — but when we choose faith over fear, He supernaturally strengthens us. He makes us bold in the face of fear. He gives us strength when we are weak and grace in our time of need. He directs our steps; He lights the path for us to walk on. He makes His will obvious to us as we choose to walk out our faith, step by step. Choosing faith over fear isn’t the easiest; however, it is the best. Don’t worry if you don’t know what tomorrow has for you. You can know for certain that He is already there!

Getting Ready

NOW is the time to get to get serious about Jesus. He is coming soon!

Things in the world are really heating up! This week in Daniel 8 we talked about the countries that will come together in the battle described in Ezekiel 38-39. As we look at the visions given to Daniel in chapter 7 and 8 and that given to Nebuchadnezzar in chapter 2, we can’t help but see that things are being set in place for a war against Israel. The bear (Russia) in Daniel’s vision had 3 ribs in its mouth (countries that it devoured). As hopeful as we want to be with Ukraine, you can’t help but think… “are they a rib?” Also, Belarus? And another country? If you know your Bible, you see what’s happening. If you don’t, then get into the Word! NOW is the time to get right with the Lord! NOW is the time to get to church and get serious about Jesus. He is coming soon! We believe that the rapture of the church will occur before the war against Israel (Ezekiel 38-39). Nothing else has to happen before the rapture. Are you ready?

And do this, knowing the time, that now it is high time to awake out of sleep; for now our salvation is nearer than when we first believed. Romans 13:11

Stepping Into a New Season

We are thrilled to step into this next season knowing that God faithful!

This season has truly been one to remember. Many are calling this our tent days! Days in which God has covered us, filled us, revived us, lit a fire in us, gone before us, provided for us, kept the rain away, and brought hundreds to Christ. In the past two years, we’ve seen a move of God in a parking lot. We’ve seen first hand that the church is essential, that the church is the people and not a building, and that a church alive is worth the drive! We are praising the Lord for HIS provision as we take this church into our new building. Will it be hard for some to leave the tent (parking lot) and go into the new building? Yes!!! People love the parking lot, but the building is so much better! A new season is coming, and God has raised up an army to go in and take the land. It is no accident that the new building is off Alicante (“fortified city”) and Batido (“well trodden”). The past participle of Batido is “batir,” meaning “to beat” — as in beating the odds or against all odds — and to break as in breaking a record. At any rate, we are thrilled to be stepping into this next season with complete faith that God will finish the work He has begun.

God's Unexpected Encouragement

If we are open, we won’t miss God’s divine instruments of encouragement.

Some of our greatest encouragements can come in the most unexpected ways!

When the two spies entered the land (Joshua 2), they were discovered and had to quickly find a place to hide. No one would look for two Jewish men at the house or a harlot—right? Little did they know that God would use Rehab to encourage and protect them. I’m sure they didn’t see that one coming!

We see in our own life that God often uses unlikely people to accomplish His perfect will in our lives. He will use them to give us a good dose of encouragement, confirm His will, His calling, or just to point us in the right direction. God is creative in who and how He uses people in our lives. If we are open — looking and listening — we won’t miss His divine instruments. Don’t discount the unlikely as a messenger from God. Instead, be open to Him using anyone. Who knows what will become of them and how the Lord may in turn use you in their life like the spies were used to save Rehab’s life. Just some food for thought on this Wednesday!
