VOLUNTEER

Thank you so much for your interest in volunteering and serving our Widows! We are blessed to serve at our Widows Tea each year. This year, we may expect more to join us, and we are asking for our sisters to help!

Here are the current needs:

  1. Volunteers to set up, serve food and tea, and clean up.

  2. Table Hostesses to set up and decorate a table of 8 with tea sets, tea pots, tiers, vase of flowers, lunch plates, silverware, and more.

Here are the details:

Hostesses: Table Set Up Time:

—Friday, February 27 from 1pm to 7pm

Doors open Saturday, February 28 at 10:30am to our guests, so our tables will be ready by 10:00am.

Tea begins at 11:00am with prayer and our tea service.


Table hostess checklist:

1. Tea cups and saucers for 7-8 women. Water glasses or goblets. (Some tables will host 8 guests).

2. Tea pots (at least 2). We have 2 types of tea, but feel free to bring your own special tea, too.

3. Lunch plates.

4. Silverware.

5. 1-2 tiers for sandwiches, scones, other sweets that you bring.

6. Napkins (cloth or disposable).

7. Cream and sugar containers.

7. Centerpiece (flowers recommended).

8. Small gift for the widows at your table, optional (less than $5 per person)

9. Extra goodies (scones, cookies, fruit, sweets are recommended).

10. Clear your table (we will have a helper assist you).

11. Cloth or lace overlay (optional). We cover all tables with an ivory table cloth.

11. Wash linens, dishes, tea items at home. We unfortunately don’t have large sinks for washing all items.

Table hostesses, you can plan to sit at the table you decorate. The ladies will be so blessed to have you!

Women's Ministry responsibilities:

  1. A leader may sit at each table to pray and minister (selected by Michelle).

  2. We provide the 60” tables and 7-8 chairs set up.

  3. We provide ivory 120” table cloths per table.

  4. We provide materials for name tags and markers.

  5. We provide tea, sugar and cream (you can bring something special to serve - your favorite tea, cream etcetera).

  6. We prepare sandwiches and salads. (You can also bring a special tea and other goodies to serve your table).

  7. We will help serve and clear tables.

  8. We will provide prayer cards.

    FOOD - SCONES, TEA SANDWICHES, DESSERTS

We are making 3 types of tea sandwiches, and providing a light salad with balsamic vinegar. We are asking our hostesses to provide additional sweets for their table. We recommend scones and another sweet. You can also provide more savory finger foods for your guests to enjoy. Ideas also include cookies, lemon bars, and other desserts or fruit.
